Description
A stunning ride, Prospector is a popular family friendly biking and hiking trail mainly because it’s so easily customizable – and it’s so easily accessible. You can make it a loop, adding in other trails like Cottonwood, Church Rocks, Bracken’s Loop, Spanish Wash, Grapevine and more. Either way, with open breathing space and heart-warming views, your eyes and soul are in for a treat!
Fairly flat and mostly sand and gravel, with a few rocks here and there, the singletrack is a fun cross-country trail. You’ll find three different entry points throughout the trail, making it like a choose-your-adventure book, allowing you to do as much or as little as you’d like. The entry points are through either the Grapevine Trailhead, the Cottonwood Trailhead, or the Harrisburg Trailhead.
In the Red Cliffs Recreation Area, the trail ends behind the historic Orson Adams House. Remember that there’s no shade, so be sure to prepare accordingly and bring plenty of water. Dogs are allowed.
