Directions
You’ll reach the trail after riding either Barrel Roll, or Precipice and Sidewinder (for a total of 13.2 miles from round trip from the Cove Wash Trailhead). From Sidewinder, brace for a steep drop with plenty of switchbacks as you go down the mesa. The Trail then spreads across the valley before taking you up the next mesa with more technical rock to climb.
Description
The Suicidal Tendencies Trail is an advanced technical biking trail filled with steep slopes, technical ascents, interesting rock formations, and exposed cliffs and switchbacks.
A couple things to watch for – “Hangover” and “Thread the Needle.” Hangover is a large rock that hangs over you near the top of the second mesa. From there you’ll pass through “Thread the Needle,” a technical portion where you must “thread yourself” between rocks on each side of the trail.
For hikers, you’ll enjoy the challenge of getting to the top of the mesa, where the trail becomes a lot more gentle and very satisfying with amazing views of the Beaver Dam Mountains.
